You meet the three published requirements for Creator Revenue Sharing.

A range, not a promise. X publishes no rate card, so these bands come from publicly reported creator payouts. How this is calculated.

The four rate bands

The model prices impressions into four geographic bands. A mostly US and Canadian audience runs $6 to $20 per million impressions. The UK, EU and Australia run $3.50 to $14. A mixed worldwide audience runs $1.50 to $9. An audience concentrated in South Asia, LATAM, South East Asia or Africa runs $0.60 to $4.

Before any niche adjustment, that is a spread of more than thirty times between the top of the US band and the bottom of the emerging-markets band. Apply the 1.6x Premium-density multiplier at one end and the 0.75x one at the other and the gap widens further, to a ceiling of $32 against a floor of $0.45.

Note that this is about where your audience is, not where you are. A creator in Manila with a mostly American readership is paid against the US band. A creator in California whose audience is mostly in South Asia is not. The passport that matters is the viewer's.

Real audiences are mixed, and the selector asks for the dominant share rather than a precise split. If your audience is roughly half American and half spread worldwide, the mixed worldwide band is the honest choice - picking the US band because a plurality is American will overstate the result. X Analytics gives you the actual country breakdown, and it is worth checking rather than assuming, because the answer tends to be less American than creators expect.

Why the bands differ this much

Two effects stack. The first is advertiser demand: CPMs have always varied by market, and US inventory has historically been worth several times the global average. Payout rates track that, because the money being shared is ultimately advertiser money.

The second is Premium penetration. Since October 2024 X pays on engagement from paying subscribers, and the share of users who pay about eight dollars a month for a social network is far higher in high-income markets. An audience can be large, active and genuinely engaged while containing almost nobody the payout formula recognises.

The two effects are correlated, which is why the gap is multiplicative rather than additive. High-CPM markets also have high Premium density, so the same audience shift moves both terms in the same direction at once.

What creators outside high-CPM markets can do

Write in English about topics that high-income audiences search for, if that is honest to your work. Topic choice moves audience geography more reliably than posting time or hashtags do, and it moves both the geographic band and the Premium-density multiplier together.

Post when your target audience is awake rather than when you are. The For You feed weights early engagement heavily, so the first hour determines which audience the post reaches at scale - and that decision is effectively made by whoever is online to engage with it first.

Then be realistic about the ceiling. For many creators outside high-CPM markets, Creator Revenue Sharing will not become the main income line at any plausible reach, and subscriptions, tips or selling something of your own will clear more at the same audience size. The reach is real and valuable; this particular program is just not the best way to price it.

Frequently asked questions

Does X pay the same in every country?
No. Estimated rates run from about $6 to $20 per million impressions for a mostly US and Canadian audience down to roughly $0.60 to $4 for an audience concentrated in emerging markets, as of September 2026.
Is the rate based on where I live or where my audience lives?
Where your audience lives. Payouts follow advertiser value and Premium subscription density in the viewer's market, so your own location does not set your rate.
Which country pays the most on X?
The United States, followed by other high-income English-speaking markets. The combination of high advertiser CPMs and high Premium penetration puts US audiences at the top of every band in the model.
Can I change which band my audience falls into?
Gradually, by changing what you post about and when. Topic and timing shift audience composition over months rather than days, and the shift moves both the geographic band and the Premium-density multiplier at the same time.
