Eligibility check
- 500 followers: metYou are over the follower minimum.
- 5M impressions in 90 days: not metAt this pace you reach about 3M per 90 days, so roughly 5 months of this output would qualify.
- Active X Premium subscription: metRequired for payouts, and you have it.
Not eligible yet. All three requirements must be met at the same time.
A range, not a promise. X publishes no rate card, so these bands come from publicly reported creator payouts. How this is calculated.
Which impressions number to use
Open X Analytics and read the impressions total for the last 28 days. That is the figure this calculator wants. Do not add up the view counts shown under individual posts - they overlap in ways that inflate the total, and the analytics figure already accounts for that.
Use organic impressions, not promoted ones. Paid reach does not earn Creator Revenue Sharing payouts, and it does not count toward the 5M impressions in 90 days that the program requires for eligibility either. If you have run ads from the account, the organic subtotal is the number that matters.
Also note that an impression is a view, not a unique viewer. The same person scrolling past your post three times generates three impressions. This is the unit X itself reports and prices against, so the model uses it, but it is worth understanding before you convert the figure into an hourly rate for your own time.
One mismatch catches people out: X Analytics reports a rolling 28-day window, while payouts and this calculator work in months. Twenty-eight days is about 92 percent of an average month, so if you want a monthly figure from the analytics number, multiply it by roughly 1.09. It is a small correction, but it runs in the direction of understating your earnings, and it compounds when you annualise.
Why a million impressions has no fixed value
A million impressions is worth roughly $9.60 to $32 if those views came from Americans in a Premium-dense niche, and roughly $0.45 to $4 if they came from a general-interest audience in low-CPM markets. That is a spread of more than fifty times on identical reach.
The reason is that X pays on engagement from Premium subscribers, and Premium penetration varies enormously by country and by topic. Advertiser demand compounds it: the rate bands track what advertisers pay per market, and US inventory has always been worth a multiple of the global average.
So the honest answer to what impressions are worth is a range with the audience specified. Any source giving you a single dollar-per-million figure without asking where your audience lives is quoting an average that describes nobody in particular.
Turning the estimate into something useful
Once you have a payout you actually received, stop using models. Divide that payout by the impressions it covered and you have your own effective rate per million, which already encodes your real audience, niche and Premium share. Use that for every forecast afterwards.
Until then, the useful exercise is sensitivity rather than precision: change the geography selector and watch how far the number moves. That movement is the real finding. It tells you that growing reach in the wrong market is worth less than holding reach steady while the audience shifts toward higher-paying ones.
And check the figure against the break-even line. X Premium is a paid subscription and a hard requirement, so a payout estimate below its monthly cost means the program is currently a net cost to you, not income.
Frequently asked questions
- How much money is 1 million impressions on X worth?
- Roughly $0.60 to $32 depending on the audience, as of September 2026. A mostly American audience in a Premium-dense niche sits near the top of that range; a general-interest audience in low-CPM markets sits near the bottom.
- How much is 100k impressions on X worth?
- A tenth of the per-million figure, so broadly $0.06 to $3.20. At that volume the more important point is that 100,000 impressions a month is far below the program's eligibility threshold.
- Do impressions from my own followers pay more?
- Not because they follow you. What matters is whether the viewer is a paying Premium subscriber and whether they engaged. A follower on the free tier who scrolls past is worth little; a non-follower Premium subscriber who replies is worth a lot.
- Do promoted or paid impressions count?
- No. Only organic impressions earn payouts and only organic impressions count toward the eligibility threshold, so use the organic subtotal in X Analytics.
